Five Elements To Stay Curious In Your Personal Growth

Hi friends, I’m so happy you’re here. As we transition into the blossoming season of SPRING, I hope you’ll find this blog supportive to your ever-evolving self. I’ve never been more aware that NO ONE can take charge of my well-being like I CAN. To look at ourselves with a genuine curiosity, to be able to turn down the noise and connect to what we need, desire and are capable of– is wildly empowering in our personal growth. Let’s explore how we can do this.

Embracing personal growth is a wholehearted journey that brings incredible transformative benefits in our lives. We all have the innate desire to expand, evolve and become the best versions of ourselves. Like most things, it’s a practice of mindful awareness that supports us taking actionable steps to live more fully. At some point, one hopes to realize deep moments of adversity lead us to a greater good. We cultivate the ability to look with-in, learning from the mistakes we’ve made and begin developing new strategies to move us forward in a positive way. I love when this happens, because we naturally thrive in this feeling and can decide we want more of it, which leads to stronger commitment. The path of self-discovery, self-awareness and self-acceptance can propel us into conscious motion versus being stuck in fear and resistance.

One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.
— Abraham Maslow

One of the key elements of personal growth is increased mindfulness. In order to align with our core values, aspirations and be more compassionate in all that we do, we must be able to be fully present in the moment. This elevated mindset will help us make better decisions and strengthen our daily interactions with patience and kindness.

Resilience is another essential aspect to personal growth. This is one I personally am always asking for more guidance with; for myself and for my kids as they grow. I recognize that they are creatures of our habits so –well, you know where I’m going with this. When we are seen being resilient by our kids, they learn to be more resilient too. It’s tough right? We all have old stories that we struggle with to let go of and need the affirmation, “I can do hard things” at times. Learning to embrace discomfort and navigate challenges with grace empowers us to bounce back from setbacks and face life’s ups and downs with the kind of energy we are motivated by.

Developing a deep connection to our bodies is crucial in the journey of personal growth. This is especially important to me as I lead yoga classes, with an emphasis to remind people how amazing our bodies are and how much they do for us. Letting go of comparison or judgment by truly honoring the vessels that house our growth and evolution. Healthy body awareness helps us treat our physical selves with respect and nourishment, further supporting our overall wellbeing.

Stress reduction is another BIG reason to invest in our personal growth. Through various mindful practices we tap into the relaxation response, experience a calmer mind, improve focus and emotional stability and with that– land in a more balanced and fulfilling life. When you’re feeling overly stressed on a consistent basis, give yourself the gift of slowing down and connecting with a mindful practice. You and everyone in your orbit will benefit greatly.

Beyond the physical and mental aspects, our spiritual connection is enriched through personal growth. Remaining curious about our own introspection can lead to a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment in our journey. Exploring this space can connect us to something greater than ourselves.

When we nurture an environment for growth, we can enjoy the process of a life-long journey of self-realization and transformation. I don’t know about you, but I’ve got big, hopeful, imperfect but committed plans to take GREAT care of myself as I age. It’s a lovely practice to jot down HOW you want to feel, WHY you want to feel tat way and a few ideas about how to get there. Then, DECIDE to go for it and let the rest unfold with gusto AND patience. With an open heart and mind may we feel energized by our own curiosity and trust we are on a path for a happier more fulfilling life.
